Who are you voting for Obama or Romney

Curious about a survey of residents on here. Are you voting for Obama or Romney or a 3rd party?

I am voting for Romney because he is better suited to handle the US economy even though I like both candidates. A 2nd Obama term would be unfair to his reputation as it would be like Bush's 2nd term only in different ways. I do hope Obama is remembered fondly as a retired former president the way George HW Bush (Bush Sr.) is. Mitt Romney also can better work with both parties (even though thats not Obama's fault) and he is Pro-Life.

But your kids can afford Romney going on a military spending spree and tripling the debt using the same policies of Bush? A runaway Wall Street with no regulations???

Gary Johnson, because the lesser of two evils is still evil. There's very little difference between the Republicans/Democrats anymore. Both love war. Both love to spend (your) money, both support the failed drug war.

Business as usual.

Romney, because I like the way that he ran the 2002 Winter Olympics. Brought in to save the foundering Salt Lake fiasco (corruption was principally to blame, and Mitt is a Mormom Bishop, after all), Mitt was unable to deliver on his promise to boost corporate sponsorship, so he did what any big businessman does these days, and boldly begged the Bush administration for a bailout. He was successful in grabbing 2.7 Billion in taxpayer dollars. Nice Bus terminals they have there in Salt Lake. Roads and sports facilities got a real sprucing up too!

I also like his leadership in Massachusetts. Elected as a Rockefeller Republican, he soon bipartisanly began to clash with the Democrats in the state legislature, who were 83% of elected officials. He kept his promise not to raise taxes, he raised fees instead. But what else was he to do? He had to boldly balance the budget, and he was boldly running a state in which the constitution requires a balanced one.

He kept his promise to be a job creater. Unfortunately, these were not private sector jobs, which declined precipitously during his governorship. But he did manage to grow the bureaucracy.

When the roof of Boston's infamous Big Dig partially collapsed, killing a passenger in a car and wounding her husband, Mitt was Johnny on the stop, calling press conferences, and boldly screaming at the head of the independent Mass Turnpike Authority on TV. Why not. He had to. He had campaigned on finishing the massive construction project. Unfortunately, the company he boldly hired to perform the subsequent safety inspections was the same company responsible for the roof collapse, and there was some subsequent unpleasantness with the Feds.

The Big Dig was completed after Mitt left office.

And, of course, his signature achievement was Obamacare, which he boldly pressed through a willing state house.

By the end of his only term, Mitt was polling in the low 30's, so he made the bold decision to start running for President instead of seeking a second term.

Today Mitt remains so popular with the good people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that he can't hold his rallies in the state. He has to hold them over the border in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Yes, a record not so much to be run away from, as to be boldly and categorically denied.

Romney -- eyes wide open.

Cut taxes, less government regulations and give the rich tax breaks.

So yes, EXPECT THE SAME BUSH RESULTS.

Bush vs Romney election promises ->

During a speech at Western Michigan University advocating tax cuts, Bush promised that his plan would not lead to deficits. "Tax relief is central to my plan to encourage economic growth, and we can proceed with tax relief without fear of budget deficits, even if the economy softens," Bush promised. Straight from Romney's page, his election pledge same as Bush

Reducing and stabilizing federal spending is essential, but breathing life into the present anemic recovery will also require fixing the nation’s tax code to focus on jobs and growth. To repair the nation’s tax code, marginal rates must be brought down to stimulate entrepreneurship, job creation, and investment, while still raising the revenue needed to fund a smaller, smarter, simpler government. The principle of fairness must be preserved in federal tax and spending policy.

When you have to clean up after Bush; fix the housing industry, fix the Wall street banking mess, stop a depression, pay for two wars and save the American auto industry it's expensive.

It's Obama trying to get out from under the mess Bush left. Obama said that in his first speech. Bush fucked us over good.

And what was the option? McCain Palin? Thank god we didn't do that. This country would now be called 2nd China.

Bush drove up the federal budget to $3.5T, NOT INCLUDING Iraq and Afghanistan, which were funded through special appropriations. Those two wars were not included in deficit calculations, but contributed to the overall debt. When Bush left office, the debt was $10.6T. It is now at $15.9T. So "under Obama" the debt has gone up $5.3T.

A little thing everyone fails to recognize is that FY2009 started on October 1, 2008, and Bush requested a budget of $3.5T with revenue of $2.1T. The debt at the end of FY2009 was $12.9T. Technically, 2009 was a budget enacted before he took office, so you have to say "Obama's debt" is really only $3T.

In 2008, the deficit was $455B. In 2009, FY2009, the deficit was $1.4T. Obama did sign the final spending bill that added $400B to the FY2009 spending bill, making it $1.4T. However, in 2011, Obama submitted the 2012 spending bill of $3.8T with $2.4T in revenue, for a deficit of $1.4T

His deficits have remained constant, roughly. The costs of the wars are no longer off-budget special appropriations.

This is not spin from either side. Obama didn't add more to the debt than the previous 43 presidents, and he didn't only increase it 16%. I simply went to the CBO site and looked up the numbers myself.

Americas debt and endless military campaigns benefit the banks and weapons mfgrs. who fund both these rent-a-chimps.Emotional isues like gun control and abortion are used to manipulate the masses while Americas biggest systemic problems go unaddressed. Americas foreign policy was roundly criticized by the left when G W Bush was prez ,but now polls show that people think its fine even though it has not changed and arguably has got worse. "regieme change" in other countries is not well recieved when it its engineered by a foreign power. Hillary was shocked by the deaths of our State Dept personnell "in a country that we liberated". Imagine if a foreign power decide that regieme change was required in Washington and took similar steps to effect it . Americans would be outraged and fight that invader regardless of thier political party.O-Bama praised Mubarak in Egypt in hie "historic" Cairo speech , but the Egyptians werent listeneing. They rid themselves of a brutal and long time US puppet . Ditto for IraQ etc, etc. etc.
What we need is real change and the end of imposing our will at the end of a gun worldwide. This does not protect our freedom, it causes us to live in fear with increasing intrusion on our civil rights at home.Every former world power bankrupted itself in similar foolish pursuits . Lets stop before we do the same.

It's too late for that. Everyone is either pissed off at both parties and chooses to stay out of political discourse altogehter, or they joined one of the teams and cheer for one and curse the other with the fervor of a sports fan.

Some expert recently pointed out that the 1% of the 1%, the ones who are spending the billions on this election are pretty much done with the American middle class because there are enough middle class in places like Brazil, India, China, and spread all over the world. They can still sell their products and speculate on resources and currency with or without the American middle class.

If you think about it, 60 years ago the American middle class drove the economy, and with it they drove the political agenda. That political power has become a liability, and thus an economic liability when they can make their money much more easily outside the US. All of the social and political benefits we've gained in the past 223 years have become an impediment. Why do you think the new driving issues are unions, regulations, and taxes?

Too Late: Eloquently and succinctly presented.I believe the sports analogy to be especially accurate. "fans" root for the team of thier city mindlessly even though the players are usually from somewhere else and would go to any other team for a few more bucks. This sort of simple minded approach is consistant with the mentality of many voters. Dont give up hope, the future of our children depends on it. Try and gently inform as many as you can to wake up. Who needs conspiracy theories when most people cant see what is in plain sight.
