And if only ThinkProgress had told you dumb fuckers who believe any slanted "facts" that they put out that only works if you count on a percentage basis and that the absolute numbers in CA and NY dwarf the numbers everywhere else.

And if they'd explained that the number correlates mostly to the number of older and poorer residents and has little to nothing to do with who's 'in charge' (i.e., it wouldn't change, even though the legislature often does).

And if they'd explained that it depends on how you count 'red' versus 'blue' given that the state may vote differently in presidential versus governor versus house and senate races, etc.

And that in southern states the highest percentage by far is in traditionally poor black districts where large portions of the population exist on some form of welfare, most of which are and have been run by Democrats.

Nope. The Obama administration certainly is to blame for the program getting as large as it did, but the expansion into cell phones started at the end of the GW Bush administration, before Obama was elected.

Now what I never understood is why they couldn't program the phones so that they could only be used to make or receive calls to 911, government offices and doctors' offices/hospitals. I know that in the days of analog landlines this might have been too complicated but why couldn't it be done today.
