Grand larceny is a felony, and you could do up to 20 years in prison for it. You will probably want to hire an attorney who's got good connections to the Commonwealth's Attorney's office and see if there's any way to get it kicked down to a misdemeanor charge, because having a felony conviction on your record basically means you're fucked for life.
There is an option in the law allowing you to be sentenced to up to a year in jail and be fined $2500, so see if your attorney can find a plea bargain that will let you serve the time and pay the fine without the felony conviction.
Ronald Smith seems like he's got a fair amount of experience, since he's been in practice since 1982, but he never served in the Commonwealth's Attorney's office and I don't know how connected he is.
Give Day & John's a call. They're very well respected, hard working, and professional.
Ignore the ignorant cop-fellators here. You're to be considered innocent until proven guilty. Police make huge mistakes all the time and the courts are there to adjudicate these disputes. Only morons assume charged = guilty.
What did you steal? What were you in possession of? I'm not going to hate on you if it was just pot and your mom reported her car stolen "to teach you a lesson". That would be a sad/fucked up situation and youd get some sympathy, at least from me. The pigs on here won't give you any though. So whats the deal?

If he was innocent, don't you think he would have mentioned that fact? He's guilty and he knows it.

I wasn't thinking right. I was high and drunk. and I thought the guy next to me stole my Iphone- so I take his and run without knowing it was his till they call the cops.

You're still not thinking right. You admit that you took someone else's phone and ran, but you did it "without knowing it was his". What's wrong with this picture?

Robert Nealon got me out of a reckless, dui, possesion of mj (5lbs+), and larceny charge. I got 6 months restricted license and a failure to obey highway sign on my record. Best part is it only cost me $250!
I'd expedite a Presidential Pardon for you if you promise to vote for me! Can't afford to lose a vote from my primary constituency of felons, illegals, and leeches on society!

There is obviously more to your story than you're telling us. Were you a dick to the cops?
Cops don't charge you with larceny for swiping someone's phone unless you jerk them around.
Franklin Bryant, you done fucked up boy. You'll make someone a nice girlfriend in prison.
Looking at your arrest record, you need to spend some time behind bars. Clearly you haven't taken responsibility for your actions.
Assault on a family member? Seriously?
Oh, and also, you are past due for your public intoxication charge back in July. You may want to pay that before your sorry ass shows up back in court.

So you're back in your Sharon Bulova taxpayer-sponsored luxury housing and back to raping and pillaging? Congrats, and be sure to thank Sharon and Gerry Connolly on behalf of us law-abiding taxpayers!
