I'm sure there's a force majeure clause buried somewhere in their terms of service agreement, there's no way they'd make themselves liable if someone's food went bad. Can you imagine trying to prove a case like that in court? "Well your honor, these eggs would have been fresh for at least two more days, and I demand $1.19 to comensate for my losses."
Like pgens said, if you can't afford to replace a hundred bucks worth of groceries, or buy bags of ice, you've got bigger problems on your hands.
