Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Almost spilled my coffee, kids came running out of their rooms.
Anybody else hear this? Maybe a blown transformer? Unlikely to be a firecracker, since it was raining steadily. Curious, since there didn't seem to be any trucks around the neighborhood to produce a backfire.
No, actually it was a compliment. GB often adds a lot to any discussion - a depth on knowledge about Fairfax history and a witty turn of phrase. Don't always agree with GB, but I was concerned when, after the outage GB wasn't heard from for a while (that I noticed, anyway.) Would have been a shame to have lost a good contributor.

GordonBlvd is a smoking hottie who enjoys speaking her mind and taking anal. She's my all-american gal. Those who disrespect her are turds and will be flushed.
Turns out, a local adolescent scientist was responsible - same kid who mooned Silverbrook Rd the night before he started kindergarten! Gotta love life in the 22039!

@ Mom - there is literacy tutoring available thru FCPS adult ed. If you can struggle past 5th grade level, they'll even help you get a GED, but in your case, it might take a couple decades. Patience is a virtue.

You do realize that there's an active quarry over off of Ox, right? Have you never heard them blast before? I live off Hooes, and even I can hear them blasting occasionally. They usually do it weekdays before noon.
