Seamus, not everyone looking for Bryan's a cracker. But most of us are in the Woodson community, and people fight harder with threats close to home. Not racial, maybe not right, but understandable.

I am a concerned Woodson parent! My heart goes out to the Glenn family! I went to the vigil yesterday and am praying for Bryan's safe return. Is there any update? There is very little in the news about Bryan!!! It makes no sense, has the police stopped looking? Is it true there is going to be a organized search tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the park? Could someone that really knows please respond and NOT any of these insensitive people who troll this site!!!

Concernedparent99, I'm confirming there's a search. It's 10:30, not 10, at Thaiss Park, 3417 Picket. So far, 130 people are participating. Wear long pants, a brightly colored long sleeve shirt, waterproof boots, and bring bug spray if you want it. Two-way radios, if you have them. I would add a flashlight. Searchers A-M are donating hike food (dry), N-Z are donating water. There will be a sign-in, sign-out table.
The task is daunting, and the more help the better. If you look at the county trail map, you'll see the trail that runs through this park is 42 miles long, and goes from Quantico through Dulles to the Potomac. Every single person will make a huge difference, if only to give the family more confidence that he's not there in need of help.

Woodson senior Bryan Glenn was last seen dropping his younger brother Marty off at Woodson High School at around 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1. An hour later, he was spotted at the Dunkin Donuts on Fairfax Boulevard. Glenn didn't go to classes or attend football practice. Police found the car Bryan was driving abandoned at Thaiss Park at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

I suspect that there is a connection between this missing teenager and the LAMB CENTER. There are a lot of hardcore criminals that hang out there, including illegal aliens. Some of them also hang out at the Dunken Donuts at Fairfax Circle, which is right down the street. Maybe he was doing something wrong like attempting to obtain illegal drugs, and that led to him getting invoved with some bad guys.

I fear now that one of the reasons he was not found earlier is cause of all the focus on his disappearance being a "crime" and not just a "mystery" - it's that sorta hype and misdirection that makes ppl miss things sometime.............

@Worried - never was ranking on the searchers at all - All I'm still saying is that it's unlikely he was the target of a kidnapping. I fear now that one of the reasons he was not found earlier is cause of all the focus on his disappearance being a "crime" and not just a "mystery" - it's that sorta hype and misdirection that makes ppl miss things sometime.............

He is going through and addressing each comment and concern as if he has some sort of intimate knowledge of the investigation or is privy to information that the rest of us can't see right here on this board. @6x - it really depends on where the car was. See where Picket is white? That's Accotink Creek - and there's a bike trail right on the "top" side of the parking lot before the creekbed. The bike trail is shut off right at the parking lot cause that tunnel under Picket is washed out so it doesnt see a TON of traffic like it used to - so if he was in that section, I can see ppl not checking there necessarily, especially if they are all busy looking for kidnapping clues and not necessarily "him", know what I mean?

In the potential chance that pills were taken as a means of suicide, then there is the minor chance, but chance nonetheless that he had the foresight to know that if he took a handful of lethal pills, the body can sometimes quickly reject it (ie vomit) on an empty stomach... expelling the active (lethal) ingredients. Most of us know the feeling of taking even a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach.

His family may well not possess the computer skills to recover deleted files related to his internet browsing. If he was planning something, there's a good chance that he cleared his browsing history and/or temp files. But he probably didn't go to the trouble of clearing them to the point that they couldn't be recovered.

The day after he went missing we had over 2 inches of rain and the normally 1 foot creek swelled above flood stage(possibly 6-8 feet). Good chance his body was washed down stream and stuck under debris. Just a thought and not fact. Prayers to his family.

Searchers in Fairfax County found a body Monday afternoon in the woods of Thaiss Park. Friends identify him as a teen who had been missing since last Monday.
Authorities have not released the cause of death of 17-year-old Bryan Glenn, a senior student at W.T. Woodson High School.
Glenn was last seen at around 7 a.m. Monday October 1st in the parking lot of the high school.
"We didn't learn this until later on at night when he didn't come home from football practice, but he had missed all day of school and football practice as well," said Mike Glenn, Bryan's father.
Bryan Glenn's car was found by Fairfax City Police in the parking lot next to the baseball field at Thaiss Memorial Park early last Tuesday morning.

BTW, it was reported last week that the donuts seemed odd to friends & fam because he was known not to prefer sweets. This stuff about him not being allowed donuts is probably a misunderstanding of that.

If it was indeed a suicide, as is being unofficially reported, then don't we need to re-access the extreme pressures - we (ie, the colleges, the college boards, the teachers, the parents, & society) put on our kids to excel and exceed on REQUIRED SAT tests for college entrance.
As was reported in a news article last week, a SAT prep/college coach worked with Bryan and his brother up to THREE TIMES A WEEK for a past few months and was woking w/ him THE NIGHT BEFORE he went missing.
That, in my opinion, is excessive....and the importance that we put on these required SAT tests can be just too much to handle for some students who may not test as well on them. Some students, although they may do very well academically in school, just do not test well on SAT's. I know many, many kids
who get very anxious about these tests and the IMPORTANCE that is placed on having to do very well on them (or not get into the schools of choice).
That's a lot of pressure on our teenagers today and it really concerns me.
I don't know if this SAT issue had any bearing on his mental state that morning he went missing, but pray for anyone who deals with this anxiety to seek help and TALK to someone.
There is help out there for you, please talk to your parents about it and just ask for help in dealing with it or ANY worries you may have!

Police admit in the Patch article it was not a "grid search". Grid searches are part of CJ 101 taught at NVCC. A Grid search is what the public usually thinks of when they think of a lost person search. They picture a long line of people marching like soldiers across an open field. Because of the manpower involved, this is usually the search method of last resort. For whatever reason, the police did not take this case serious enough from the beginning and did not think it was worth the man power. It would be interesting to do a FOIA to see who was doing what during the time frame. are tickets on 7100 that impoertant? If it is a manpower issue then where do my fucking taxes go?
Just cant see what was so important that they could not 1) use Their own personnel or 2) lead a group of trained volunteers

If his dad is a colonel, wouldn't that be a shit ton of pressure too? He probably had a lot of discipline in the household.
