I cannot imagine a christian school existing anywhere in the Muslim World.

Now the thing is - this site might have been closed as an FCPS back when they turned sandburg into a middle school instead of the old Fort Hunt High School.

That was in the eighties. Whitman's school profile:

This move placed Whitman out of its community boundaries, requiring all students to ride buses."

I don't know about the curriculum personally but I do know the site is near Whitman near Fort Belvoir.

CIP money they plan to spend when a site is publically owned:

West potomac Pyramid=
Waynewood E.S. 8-room modular addition / 200 student spaces $1.7 million 2008-09 school year
Hybla Valley E.S. 18-room addition / 450 student spaces $7.5 million 2009-10 school year
Sandburg M.S. Renovation (Planning funded) $67.3 million 2013-14 school year

Mount Vernon High School Pyramid=

Mount Vernon Woods 8-room modular addition / 200 student spaces $2.1 million 2008-09 school year
BRAC School Impact Planning $2.0 million 2008-09 or as needed

The CIP [prior to amendment ]that's online has BRAC in Mount vernon pyramid.

There's a lot of modular money being spent plus Fort belvoir elementary is overcrowded while FX is leasing out a school site. This is confusing and are we spending more by not using the FX leased site?

Very true...Christianity and Islam have at their base a dogma of intolerance. Over time Christianity has learned how to market itself so as to be more palatable to the masses..but at it's core is the concept of "exclusivity". That is the belief that there is only one way to god and that is thru the christian portal. This concept is the cornerstone of some of the more horrific acts of religious intolerance. Now you modern christians can think yourselves above all this today..but it is right below the surface just waiting to escape. The religious right openly demonstrate their intoloerance. They would take away a women's right to control her reproductive capabilities...they would roll back protections in the work place...they would have you dress and act more modest.

If there's anything the terrorists DO want, it's for us to do exactly what you are saying we should do. They want us to be scared, they want us to give up our values of liberty and justice. INteresting article...during the Revolutionary days John Adams would have made the same argument against Catholic nations...I would make the case for any religious based nation including our own "Kristian" nation. We must all strive to secularize as do most of the western civilzation nations. Drive Christian, Judaic and Muslim beliefs out...leave only the rule of law, reason and science drive our public actions. Religion is best left in the closet....like a deviant sexual preference.
