I can safely say that your band is the Meade Skelton of death metal.

Well thats good to know. Actually the band did get a new singer, different from the one that you hear on the myspace page. And the dude playin the guitar has stepped it up big time. There just hasnt been any new stuff recorded to put on the site, they've just been letting their live shows win people over.

Hey buddy, this is the last place to promote your band. This site is used to wannabe musicians like Meade coming on here with dillusions of grandeur hoping to find masses of fawning and adoring fans. No such luck here, sir. Plus the fact that you keep placing the same repetative posts and threads, rubs people (who are used to attention/approval seekers like Meade, spammers, bumpers, and other assorted trolls) the wrong way. My advice is to lose the original singer and tone down the metal edge a little bit. Europe loves that shit, but it is far less marketable in the U.S.

Thanks, I try to make this place a little more lighthearted, considering all the racial undertones and tension present here on a daily basis. It's a good trait and a sign of normalcy (sound mind) to be able to laugh at a funny pic or post concerning oneself. It's all in good fun!

Believe it or not, NOVA has a big underground metal following. Jaxx is good, Richmond,The Asylum in DC, and even Balls Bluff tavern in Leesburg has metal shows on Sat. nights. Morgues and meat lockers are tight too,

If these guys are serious, they need to get out of NOVA. Dave Grohl didn't make it big by playing pumpkin festivals in Springfield. He went to Seattle where things were happening.

anyway, dave grohl made it big by 1) being an especially good drummer 2) playing community centers around dc with punk rock bands 3) eventually joining an established touring band 3) that band falling apart on the road 4) being invited to join nirvana in seattle 5) nirvana winning the lottery 6) picking up a guitar and writing broadly palatable radio rock.

The only people really paying attention to the music coming out of this area in the eighties were other bands, scenesters, fanzines, and small indie labels in other cities around the country. No local major market radio stations (the d.c. univ. stations and old whfs were not major market) or major labels paid any any attention to the scene until much later (i.e. post Nirvana). Fuck, even Bad Brains, who are legends, were on the cassette only label ROIR for years (after they moved to N.Y.).

of course we are talking about the underground, but the DC hardcore scene was most certainly on the national (and international to a certain extent) radar in the 80's.

i was only aware of the one RIOR cassette. everything else of theirs that i had from the 80's was caroline or sst.

Maybe the old singer would sound better if he stopped putting a bottle brush down his throat before "singing".

I'm sure the new singer is just as good.

D.C. inspired Cali and Boston's straightedge scene and later New York's kick your ass attitude. In fact the D.C. kids brought hard core slamming back from the west coast and added their own in your face attitude, which Boston and New York later adopted. Bad Brains joined RIOR when they moved to New York, after being shunned by most venues in D.C.

Yeah, but Ian Svenonius was a weirdo . When I opened up for his band, Cupid Car Club, at the Washington Peace Center, he rode in on a fucking vespa type scooter as an opener!! LOL
