Connolly Wins

Gerry Connolly beat Leslie Byrne in the Dem primary for the 11th.

I hope this finally snuffs out Byrne's political career. It will be interesting to see if this seat finally goes blue.

Connolly was dishonest, is dishonest and will always be dishonest. All he serves are builders and contractors who pay him off for any deal in the county.

We are the wealthiest county in the country. He's obviously doing something right.

Politicians can't exist in VA without catering to either the gun lobby...tobacco or developer lobby. Of the three I prefer the developer lobby.

We may be wealthy, but Connolly had NOTHING to do with that. You can thank Jack Herrity for putting in place the mechanisms that brought businesses to Fairfax. And he started that momentum in the 70's and 80's. Connolly didn't start public office life until '95 in Fairfax. And he wasn't chairman until '03. It's been nothing but downhill ever since.

Yeah that makes sense. As chairman of the BOS, he had absolutely nothing to do with the financial oversight of the county.

I have to agree Connelly has little to do with the economic success of FFx county. This whole area is successful due to

1. the government
2. government contracts


VA has nicer tax and labor laws than DC or MD so a lot of businesses built here, FFX being the largest and closest county to DC was the major benefactor of this as were the rest of nova counties.
