Can the Parking Enforcement Officers write tickets for anything other then parking related issues? I just got a ticket for not displaying my front license plate. The parking officer told me he has the right to enforce such laws.

Not unlimited, but more than simply "you didn't put enough change in the meter". They theoretically can also write no inspection sticker tickets, but that has been contested in the state supreme court.

I believe that the need for a license plate is universal - regardless of if the vehicle is operational or not. The need for an inspection sticker applies if the vehicle is moving or has been seen moving.

you could have avoided the entire problem if you complied with the law and had the front plate on your vehicle....you were given two for a reason....

The car had not front mount for the license plate when it was purchased from the dealership 4 years ago. I have been pulled over by cops in past for minor violations but never has a cop ticketed me for not having a front license plate. That's why I find it odd that a Arlington Parking Enforcement Officer would ticket me for such a violation. I would have though that the VA State Police and FFX Police would be more strict about this rule.

I believe this law was changed last July 1. Now police can ticket you for an out of date inspection sticker if you're parked pretty much anywhere they have access to. That includes private property if the police can patrol there (i.e. a condominium parking lot). Some guy in PW county fought his ticket (got it in his condo parking lot) and I think it went to the state supreme court. They agreed with him after about 5 years of legal battles, and threw out his $60 ticket. Then the legislature just re-wrote the law. Before the change, if you were parked in a public parking lot, technically the police couldn't ticket you for inspection, but of course they did, and most people paid.

4 years ago you bought the car without a front tag holder and only now you got a ticket...How about saying thank you and getting off your lazy ass and fixing it...
