We're in the city of Vienna, quiet subdivision, and have dealt with 4 flats on our two cars in the past few months. The last two were within two weeks. Different types of nails, different tire location. Is it time to get paranoid, or do all the McMansion construction sites around our development likely bear the blame? We've done D.C. commutes for years with no similar issues. Anyone else?

You got it..it's the construction crew's debris, including air nails, etc, that you're running over on your street.

Good luck in taking this up with the Town of Vienna...the streets look like Beirut, but with that new home tax revenue coming in, they don't give a shit...

When I first moved here I lived in Oakton, Fairfax and Vienna for several years before leaving for counties south and west. I recall vividly there was a problem with somebody constantly throwing nails all over the roads. The local papers would report on the issue occasionally, as hundreds of people would be getting flats and would start to complain about it. I got several flats that way. Problem was that the cops could never catch the culprits doing it at night, so maybe it is still going on.

First world trauma!!!! Oh Lord save us from this atrocity.
