There will be another special election Sept 12 for vacant council seat.
There are now 5 seated on the city council. Two who lost in the last special mayoral election. The seat should remain vacant until the Sept election since a member or two of the community were promised support for this appointment. There is no assurance this person will not run as an incumbent in September.

The buzz is a former council member has the inside track. He is known to many as the shark in a suit. Give him enough camera time and you will have your 4th vote.
There is no person in this City for whom I have less trust and respect for than this person. Sometimes I think calling him a shark in a suit is truly an insult to a shark.

There's really no need to fill the open seat with an interim appointment since there will be an election to fill it in September. The "friends" of this guy are being used to get him seated so he can run in the special election as an incumbent. The budget is next up on agenda and with 5 members there will be no tie. That's actually preferable.

How did they decide on Dan Drummond? Isn't this just "more of the same"? Why not consider the person that ran in the last election that had the next highest amount of votes?

Hey History - I believe Drummond was on the council at some point - did he ever lose any re-election bids?
