Can anyone confirm that the Toys R Us location in Fairfax City in the 1980s was where the Haverty's is now at 11151 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030? If you have pictures of the storefront, please post. There used to be a tall giraffe sign out front.

It definitely was a Toys R Us. Used to go there when I was a kid. Parents still live very close to there.

Thanks so much, 'yep'! Does anyone know when it closed? I wonder what went in afterward...I think it took some time until another business took over the space. It might have been a furniture company, but not Haverty's. There was at least one or two other stores before Haverty's.

They had the TOYS R US, left sometime early 70's I believe it was a Sears catalog place (Maybe) before the furniture place, Green Dolphin owned By Larry and Kathy Owens, closed like 1970 as well...Had a hair salon, an auto parts place before it was small store in the Hilltop shopping cneter, across the street was Hill Top Trailer Park... Remember Bell Aire Auto Parts, ( Bob and Lou worked there as well as Farfax City Esso, across from the courthouse...and Eddie Auto sales before the road was put between them...lol an old green two story house that was falling down sat on the corner for years before it was a corner... I wopkred at the Dolphin in the kitchen all through high school...Whew those hot crab pots!!

My child doesn't like modern cartoons, he reminds me: he likes star wars and dinosaurs. He also likes Indiana Jones. Therefore, we are now making an interesting "barrier zone" and are waiting for delivery from https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seije/snake-ladder-climbing-playground-for-kids-1-7-yo?ref=d77866&utm_source=goodevas_gl&utm_medium=post as this is going to be a cool part of our home playground.

What do you think are the best toys for children's development? I understand that many parents buy educational toys for their children, but everyone has different preferences for toys.

You know, it is very difficult to determine what toys will be of interest to your baby and influence their development. The fact is that the preferences and image sensitivity of children are different at any age. Therefore, an individual approach is needed in the choice of educational toys https://www.tickit.eu/ In any case, I advise that you to watch your baby and note which subjects they show great interest in and, based on your observations, buy educational games for development and learning.
