I took some photos at this place a few weeks ago for a film assignment and I noticed most of the buildings had been ransacked and vandalized but i’m curious about the history of the facility and if there was any abuse or anything shady that went on there that anyone knows of. Any information is useful!

I worked there in the early 80s. The residents were housed by function level. There were people who were severely retarded and on the level of infants and on the higher functioning units some of those people left the facility daily to work jobs in the community.
I was told that prior to 1978 the state surgically altered the residents so they could not reproduce. The place was awful and employee turnover was high. The food was bad too. I quit after about a year.
