PO'ed a Cop

Geesh, a little rebuttal can really get a cop upset. Got pulled for 35 in 25. After cop ran my tags etc. he came to give me ticket. I asked him how many tickets he has had in last copule years. He didn't answer, but he did make me get out of the car. I was never belligerant ( Bad spelling ), never raised my voice to give him a reason to ahh... whatever. Anyway, just as he turned away to go to his car I replied again, "I guess it has nothing to do with flashing a badge". I could almost hear his shorts riding up his butt in anger. He paused, but went his way...Thank God.

Now I see why he wrote you a ticket.

I've only made one smart-ass remark to a cop.

It was in the Arizona desert at night, and I turn out of a gas station to get back on the highway, when before I get to the onramp (so maybe had cleared 10-15 mph at this point) I get pulled over.

Apparently I had ran a stop sign in the middle of nowhere...

Anyway, two of them approach, and the first guys looks in and says (looking at my radar detector), "What you got there?". I said something like "ummm". Then his buddy at the other window quickly goes "Is that a radar detector?". Again, "um". First guy immediately follows with "You wouldn't have that unless you like to speed, right?".

Me: "Was I speeding?"

"Please get out of the car, sir."
