Cause they sell it at Safeway, but I can't find it anywhere else. I just want to make some good french toast n need thick bread....and I won't be returning to Safeway because they are rude, discriminatory and out of half the shit I want anyway.
So, anyone know anywhere else to get good thick texas toast? (don't say the freese aisle, that's garlic bread)

its not hard to make on your own with some flour and yeast, just make sure you cut thick slices or else it doesnt work

I don't know you or where you reside but Kingstowne Giant has a decent bakery.
Thank you for the helpful responses x3 I'm near Lorton, so Kingstowne is not that far. :) And Joe, do you know what brand it is? I've never found it at Giant.

Jen, don't hold me to this, but I think the brand is "Long Horn". Giant also makes it. I find it in the frozen section. Really does taste good, at least in my opinion. Takes about 10 minutes to cook in the oven.
It's ok FriskyDingo, I've said I'm Irish more than once :) No one here's gonna "figure out" who I am unless they really already know me....and I'm sure no one I know is ignorant enough to "out me" on a forum. I appriciate the advice though!
@whiterussian-No. I won't give money where I've been discriminated against. Personal principal, I spent over $600 at Safeway this summer so it'll be their loss. I can obviously find it elsewhere.
@000-really? One of the dumbest? I must be a complete moron for thinking people in my area would know where to find something....I'll let you mull that over.
@nohelp-no. and if you don't believe me, go through the scotty threads, somewhere there a pic of me holding a whip. I just happen to enjoy french toast on occasion. If you take care of yourself you can indulge in yummy things on occasion.

This thread is so full-o-fail.
First, JenK can't find a friggin loaf of bread to slice up herself.
and then as a cherry on top, Vince repeats the same dumb joke already used.
Congrats Fairfax Underground! You never fail to disappoint me! lol

I've bought unsliced bread and then cut it to the size I wanted for french toast.
Also a small amount of vanilla in the french toast batter is awesome!

Personally, I prefer Alaska toast. It's bigger.
