Why don't white people like seasoning?
Posted by: Ahmayzin ()

I'm not talking about high blood pressure in 2 bites type seasoning. Just seems like over all, they don't liek seasoning their food. Therefore, their meals lack taste. Speaking in general. I know several white folks that can hook it up. Just asking. Please, I have recently been undouched. So I may be beside my colon here.

White people like light seasoning. Why? Because you get the flavor of seasoning w/ the flavor of the actual food.

Are you indian or middle eastern? Well the reason your food has so much seasoning in it is because your culture is historically poor and does not have good methods of preservation or the ability to eat fresh food. So you need the seasoning to cover up the taste of the shitty meat and or vegetables.

So, that's why indian and middle eastern food is fucking loaded with seasonings. Because it tastes like dick cheese, ball sweat and hairy ass without it.

You ASSUME I am Taliban. You assume my first cousins name is Bakmarhamad. Therefore, you my friend, are Douchetastic. I personally grew up NOT eating a lot of salt. My parents were against giving it to us. As I got older and had a family of my own, I wanted to add seasoning to my food. I love to cook, always have. I had to learn balance. I got carried away over the years and it eventually affected my blood pressure. Sucks. lol. Anyway. Yer gay and your mom knows it. Wash your ass you big ole pimp.

SHWING!

I don't use salt on anything, but do like seasonings like garlic, montreal seasoning, crushed re peppers, etc.

That's how I am Ralph P. Hats off. I rarely use SALT. SOmetimes I will lightly salt my steamed veggies...only fresh veggies...lightly salt...like a dash...followed by a few dashes of pepper and olive oil.

Is this a new stereotype I'm not aware of? I use lots of seasoning. Garlic powder, sea salt, crushed red pepper, those little dried onions...

That's probably why I smell so bad all the time.

I dunno. Its is definitely a stereotype. My observation is it's 50/50. I have a few caucasian friends with Italian heritage. They season their food like me. Then I've eaten other caucasian friends cooking and it tastes like I'm eating food with water pour on top. lol.

I love salt and herbs. Best combos:

chicken and tarragon
pork and rosemary
beef and thyme
tomatoes and basil

I have at least 50 spices in the cupboard at all times - although fresh is always best. If you haven't used fresh cilantro, try it - one of my favorites. I use garlic in almost everything. A tip - buy chopped garlic in a jar at the supermarket. Tastes the same and is a lot less messy. Another tip - add some dijon mustard to pan juices - really kicks it up a notch. Same with red wine vinegar.

On the other hand, my mother didn't use any seasoning other than salt. And she pretty much just ate food white food - baked chicken with mashed potatoes, scallops with rice,... My sister-in-law is the same. Go figure.

If you are up for a really funky pot roast, try this recipe from Alton Brown:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/pot-roast-recipe/index.html

He uses cumin, balsamic vinegar, olives, and raisins to create a roast that tastes a lot like barbeque. I don't make it exactly as written, but it's a fun change of pace.

I season season stuff all the time. Preferably with something spicy like cajun, jerk, or creole. Like MrM, I often use garlic, red pepper, pepper, etc. I'll even throw dried jalepeno seeds into a burger or something.

Of course, I'm also black.

I use fresh cilantro..A LOT. Fresh garlic although minced is good too. I found some no salt seasoning that is really good. Love to use rubs too.

Generally, I eat anything thats put down in front of me. Sometimes it has salt, sometimes garlic, sometimes curry or ginger.
Sometimes no seasoning. Sometimes Soy sauce, tomato sauce.
It's all good.

it seems Ahmayzin, Ralph Pootawn and meh are characters. This is interesting. Interesting characters here.....have not figured them out yet. Liking it, though.

and, Warhawk is really a black? If that's for real, consider my mind blown.

We don't use much salt (I usually eliminate it from recipes or cut it in half). But we use a lot of fresh herbs and spices. My "garden" currently has 4 basil varieties, dill, cilantro, parsley, chives, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, bay leaves, sage, and mint. Then there is a cabinet of dried herbs/spices. And I usually have fresh garlic, ginger, shallots, lemons, and limes in the fridge.

Often with things like a good steak, we use minimal spices. But generally, our food is quite flavorful. We love thai hot food or the depth of a good curry.

I listen to RadioHead. I actually really really like radiohead...a lot. One of my favorite songs (didn't discover it until like 2 years ago), is "Rain Song" by Led Zep. That song hypnotizes me...calms me when Im flustered.

Still Black though.

Tabasco Sauce. Real men shake it on any and everything edible. Sometimes I drink it strait up without a chaser. Sprinkle the magical sauce on gunshot wounds and does an exceptional job on protruding bones. Have something in your eye? Tabasco will clean it right out.

Half breeds such as you eat such crappy food it requires lots of salt and storong seasons. Also monkeys and apes have less taste buds than humans.

I occasionally use a shake or two on my GF when she is ripe and in season. The only problem is holding her down. But the taste is sublime.
