this is just an FYI because it seemed...

unfortunately, web pages are getting really bulky. apparently the average site is 300KB+ just to load.

here's the source: http://www.websiteoptimization.com/speed/tweak/average-web-page/

discuss amongst yourselves. :P

It's because websites and internet have become more of a central focus for a business in 2008.

Businesses are demanding that websites do more than just show text, they now have to be dynamic with heavy graphics to compete.

Also everybody is moving to fast broadband connections so web developers are increasing the footprint of pages from under 100k to under 300k.

it's true but many times it's not helpful to the site... sales people can be idiots.

unfortunately, web developers dont give a damn about efficiency or they are too dumb to understand how to optimize a web page. one of the things that kills me is that they dont vector graphics AT ALL.

Most companies don't spend enough money on their websites. That's why you get the overloaded trash websites. Your right, it's a shame. Companies need to wake up and understand that their website is a huge factor in business.

New studies show that close to 64% of a persons first impression about a company comes from the companies website.
