That hour and a half of talking up records was why TMOS is number ONE on iTunes. Never mind that Old man Mike couldn't figure out how to use his iPad! The show was just one for the books, 10/10 would listen again. Talking up records is a skill! So good!

None of you seem to get it. But for all intents and purposes, Mike's relevance as any sort of an entertainer left long ago when he left the D.C. area.
I mean he is basically Imus now. Just a big fat head looking in on a monitor like an alien on Star Trek. Not hearing half of what is being said and getting angry about it or just not fitting in with what he thinks he does hear.
But at least there's always Blobb to fill in those sad laugh tracks of lost childhood when Mike makes those jokes nobody understands. The show is like calling your grandpa on his birthday.
Hopefully Oscar was looking for apartments in H-town while he was there and maybe he could get a much better sales job being around "his people" or something because the time to pull the plug on this latest iteration was long long ago.

It was priceless when Oscar (after O'Meara made a statement something like "a person of better means could afford to fly to his vacation home" told what Pony had said to him offline - something like "It's sad when a man has to drive to his vacation home". Later O'meara makes a statement that so what's wrong if he socked some away some $$ over all those years. Wow, and he gets Klubbers to pay for him to go on a multi-$1000s trip to golf tournaments!

I remember, back before the RELM schism, when I had the realization that I just had to not listen to Buzz's news segment, because, while I'm not a Republican, his *constant* cheerleading for the Democrats was just getting so, so trite. Little did I suspect that Buzz leaving would dramatically shift the show's political center of gravity from his liberalism (which always struck me as principled and at least somewhat thoughtful) to Mike's brand of liberalism (which is, by even the most charitable interpretation, reflexive, entitled, and shallow).
Ah, good times, to remember a time when I avoided one segment of a podcast I more or less otherwise liked. I did not know what dark times were to come.

In minute 11 "newsnog" Mike O'Meara said the young fellas selling water on the Mall were detained by DC police and then went off on a bit about all the redneck DC police officers who live in Warrenton. What a surprise, Mike, it was the Park Police. Gotta actually read the story.
To be fair and balanced the story doesn't specifically say the plainclothes cops were Park Police, but still...maybe the cops just thought it was getting a little "dark" on the mall.

For the record, I am a day behind in listening to (and/or ignoring) TMOS.
Why does Mike believe that ANY anecdote about his life (...his health, his son, etc.) is worth talking about?
I honestly wish that he was employed by a radio station, so he would have a producer telling him what content to have on the show. (I actually miss Beth Anne)
When he is doing or saying whatever he wants, I will fast forward through the show until I hear someone else's voice.
