Unfortunately, Jaguar and Land Rover were bleeding Ford dry with their extraordinarily high R&D costs, high rate of warranty repairs and paltry sales (although according to Ford's annual report, Land Rover sales have increased in the last 2 years).

I personally like the new improvements made in each brand by mostly focusing on fit-and-finish and overall powertrain quality (compare the Discovery to the LR3 or RRS and S-Type to the new XF to see what I mean).

I just hope Tata doesn't mess with the brand heritage too much as most of the world from a cachet point-of-view would rather drive a sportier, British-derived automobile than one of these buggers. http://www.tatamotors.com/
