Hillary won't release Tax records or Earmark Requests?

Close observers of yesterday's reports on the efforts of McCain and Obama to get Sen. Clinton to disclose her earmark requests going back to 2001 may have noticed a strange thing about the statement her office issued at the end of the day.

At least that’s the conclusion she tried to draw when it was her opponent who wasn’t releasing his tax records during the 2000 campaign.
The campaign of his Democratic opponent, Hillary Rodham Clinton, criticized the delay, asking whether he was hiding something. The State Democratic Party even sent a young campaign worker dressed as Uncle Sam to Mr. Lazio’s campaign events, to shout at him to disclose the returns.
An interesting conclusion considering she is now the one who is failing to release 8 years of tax returns.

If she is the Democratic Nominee, she will release her tax returns - something she is not obligated to do but is customary.
Right now, why would she? It is not the Obama people who are salivating at the chance to scour her return, it is Frank Lutz, the RNC, and the Heritage Institute who want to scour the return so they can exxagerate something to monumnental proportions.
