Im not saying its a bad thing- but it seems very artificial and fake.
Prime Example: Adele. I realize shes a soul type singer, but she doesnt really sound like herself. When she talks she has a different voice than when she sings. That sounds unnatural and affected
Christiana Augliera. Same deal. Puts 1,000 runs in each song- over sings it, tries too hard. But she doesnt sound like Christina. She sounds like a 45 year old black woman.
Why cant singers learn to sing in their own voices and stop putting on fake voices and copying? Of course there will be similarities in style but in the old days, all teh singers used their own voice in Pop music. Elvis Presley had a "black style" but he used his Elvis Presley voice, not Ray Charles's voice.

I was always pretty sure you are Meade. Now I am convinced of it.
Fairfaxunderground rules: Lilliputions, not ok. Midgettville ok. I got it now.
Meade is complaining about other singers' authenticity? Must we discuss his accent again? Or the common belief that Meade is just a character, a charade?

What does "sounding black" sound like? Is it a 50's sound? Elvis twang?

Whitney had a great voice. Maybe one of the best in our own history. She killed our Anthem. Did it sound black? No. Are we OK with that? Hell yes!
I love Aretha Franklin too. She has a voice that is on so many levels grand.
Meade sounds so black because he probably has some black blood in him. It was very common for plantation owners to have sex with their slaves. I'm sure Meade probably has some slave blood in his background.
