She's incredibly simple minded. I can't stand her, and I never read any of her books or watched her shows because she looks like a fat, perverted hick. She has no respect for herself or anyone else.

I'm not 'pretending' to be anything, and you're the only one coming across as 'dumb'.

omg, she's on tv right now on The Food Network pulling egg rolls out of a deep fryer and stuffing them in her fat face!

She's dumb as hell, read this article: http://eatocracy.cnn.com/2012/01/18/hugh-acheson-southern-food-beyond-the-butter/?hpt=hp_bn8

Hey Paula Deen, do you think it's such a good idea to continue to eat butter and fatty shit now that you've been diagnosed with type 2 dia-beetus?

Paula Deen is a well-known Southern cook who slathers everything in butter. Her voice could peel paint. She was diagnosed several years ago with diabetes, but she only recently came out, to considerable fanfare

Ah, that would explain the '19 sticks of butter' joke.

Paula Deen would deep fry her butter in lard before putting into her dish if she could. When she "came out" with this revelation about her diabeetus, my first thought was "duh...no shit".

I used to travel occasionally to southern Alabama for work. The Alabama colleagues frequented a local place that served EVERYTHING fried. I tried to order baked or broiled fish one time and they looked at me like I was an alien. I also tried to order non-sweetened tea. That didn't go over too well, either. But what really grossed me out was the first time I went there and my companion ordered fried gizzards. Of course, I never had grits till I came to DC.

I recall watching this obnoxious, obese shill for the Food Network on one occasion. The show featured her and her sons wherein they all kept referring to their chocolate ice cream, but with their seemingly dimwitted southern drawls it kept coming our of their greasy, yammering maws as "CHOW KLIT ASS CRAME."

I say let them eat all the deep fried food and sugar laden drinks they want.

Hopefully the undesirables will kill themselves off with Type II diabetes over the next 20 years.

Anthony Bourdain is putting Paula Deen ON BLAST -- mocking the butter-loving chef for poisoning Americans with unhealthy food ... and now trying to profit off of their illness.

In an ultra-transparent Twitter attack -- Bourdain wrote, "Thinking of getting into the leg-breaking business, so I can profitably sell crutches later."

The "Kitchen Confidential" author is presumably pissed that Deen -- who built an empire off her high-fat, high-sugar recipes -- announced she has diabetes ... and subsequently revealed she's become a paid spokeswoman for a diabetes medication.

There are reports ... Deen knew about her diabetes for years -- but continued to hock her recipes on her Food Network cooking show, while secretly negotiating the endorsement deal.

Obviously, Bourdain sees a serious conflict of interest in Deen's behavior.

She is making money off her life style.

Bourdain is just jealous that he has no deal in the oven. He should pray he gets a disease and makes money off it.

I love her voice. I cant stand northern accents. They're horrible. Like Rachel Ray. Every time I hear her my cat screeches.

Fried foods are not bad for you in moderation. I am from Virginia so I grew up on Southern cooking. I have fried chicken on special occassions. Not every day. I mean, really. Use common sense. And un-sweet tea is just plain gross. Sweet tea has less sugar than coke does. Its also uncarbonated and doesnt contain high fructose corn syrup. Many people buy soy milk and other "healthy" products. Youd be surprised how bad those are for you too. So just eat in moderation , okay people??

While most of the time you'd be right, a friend of mine has a son that was born with it.

Both of his parents are VERY active and eat healthy.

If he could quit eating anything and rid himself of that disease, I'm thinking he'd do it in a second.

edit: Just remembered another friend that's a doctor down in southwestern VA that was diagnosed when he was about 40. The guy never owned a car up to that point and rode a bike everywhere. Lived in China for 4 years and runs a martial arts studio on the side.

But yeah...Paula Deen more than likely did bring this on herself.

Diabetes is largely genetic. Diet plays only a very small role in it. Paula Deen is over 60. Many people her age have it.

One would think that, yes.

But it was and is type two.

We don't have an accent in the north. We just sound differnt to southerners because we're educated, and we're not the products of generations of in-breeding.

People from NY and MA don't have accents? Those are literally the worst of the worst, they sound borderline retarded.
