I'm personally of the belief that one does not (and cannot) gain intelligence with age, which would mean one's age has no bearing on intelligence.
That is not to say the same is true of knowledge.

But, returning to the original topic...

A/S/L?!?

People keep derailing my thread! (A/S/L!!!)

I don't know what brought me here, but I've decided to stick around for the time being. Had I been required to register a user name, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have bothered.

I'm a student. I also have a job, but it is of little importance to me.

Since you are new, I wanted to take the opportunity to learn more about you.

I hope you stay a while and enjoy yourself.

Intelligence may be lost with age (i.e. in time). Mechanisms of degradation may be acute (see: Gabby Giffords) and/or chronic (e.g. huffing paint). Consequently intelligence is a function of time. The brain is not the soul.

Be water, my friend.

Oh, no - you can't fool me! I've seen what happens to people that FairfaxUnderground gets to know well. If I disclose too much, I'll have 12ounceProphet all over my ass.

I don't know how your post escaped my notice earlier...

I would argue that intelligence remains constant, even through the scenarios you've described. But then again, I suppose this all depends upon how one defines intelligence. Is intelligence determined by efficacy, or is it determined by potential? Or is it something else entirely? Is there such thing as an 'intelligence gene'? Does intelligence develope along the same patterns as speach, or does it simply emerge when ready, much as does human sexuality? Can one's 'intelligence' be restricted to certain cognitive faculties, or must it be universally evident?

Anyone possesing even the most basic cognitive abilities should be able to recognize that I am very much my own person (meaning I am not 'eesh').
