Jurisdiction Population Born in State Percentage

Fairfax County 1.1 million 82,863 7.6%

No wonder it feels so lonely in such a crowded place.

This is not news, OP. I was born in St. Louis. I've lived in the 703 for 45 years. I've met 11 people in my time here that are born/raised here.

I know it's not news........except the actual number. 7.6%

I've watched this place turn into the worlds largest train station for more years than I suspect most of the posters here have been alive.

I only have one question, will you be leaving soon?

Born in DC, raised here in northern VA.

Though I know many who were raised here, went away to school and work for a while and have come back to raise their own families.

No, I will not be leaving soon. I enjoy living in the 703. There's things I wish were different but, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
