I seen her house on S. Kent St. She was considered "lose" but that was really rumors. She was 20 years ahead of her time. Most women did not sing like she did at that time.

She sang in D.C. with Jimmy Dean and his Texas WildCats. She was a real lady, even though that movie Sweet Dreams portrays her as a drunken slut. Nothing could be further form the truth.

She was extremely generous to everyone. One little girl was sick and dying in the hospital and was a fan, and Patsy flew all the way out to meet her and sing for her.

She cared so much about music. She didnt really care about being a Star but her enormous talent took her the top.

If you think she isn't relevant today:

1995 she sold more records than Shania Twain
She still the number one jukebox play in the world
over 40 years after her death they are singing her songs publicly- on shows such as American Idol

Many people who hate Country music often make room for Patsy Cline (the best Country crossover artist next to Johnny Cash)

Yes I did know that. I think there may be a sign somewhere in Winchester that says it. Also when I went to the Martina McBride concert at the Patriot Center two years ago, Martina mentioned it and then sang a song by Patsy Cline.

You should go up there. The Shenandoah Valley was the breadbasket of the Confederacy. Winchester changed hands 40-some times during the course of the war. The city and its inhabitants got their asses kicked by two opposing armies.

Um, like I went to Shenandoah U. so I know a little about it.

Yeah- actually it changed 72 times.

Patsy Cline is much more interesting though. Also- Willa Cather who wrote "Little House on the Prairie" is from Winchester, as is Harry Flood Byrd.

Laura Ingalls Wilder was the author of all the Little House series not Willa Cather. And Laura was born in the Midwest and lived mostly in the midwest except for in Maine.


Willa Cather was born in Winchester but she was famous for her novels too mainly The Pioneers and another one called My Antonia. Most of her grown up life was spent in the midwest.

Patsy Kline Sucks!

hate to break it to you meade but she IS NOT buried in Winchester anymore. A friend of mine and I stole her remains coupla Halloweens ago and hung her skeleton outside my house. Afterwards we put her in the front seat of our car adn drove to Ocean City and Hung the old bones up in the shocker game in one of the arcades on the boardwalk. Not gonna say wich one. you'd just have to go and see for yourself.
