If you go to the Project Gutenberg site, there is a pretty good story by a Confederate soldier entitled "Life in the Confederate Army, by a private soldier", a first hand account of life as he saw it. I thought it was pretty good. It is an ebook.

You have no clue about Project Gutenberg, do you?
Go check it out - you can just Google for it if you're afraid to actually go to the site.
Then come back here and apologize.
Sheesh.

Black slaves turning in their Northern benefactors (Interesting)
Confederate soldiers buried dead of Union troops in battle, left the Black troops for the pigs (Interesting)
From the book.

And you think the Confederate troops didn't suffer just as much in the many Union POW camps. It is just history is always on the side of the victors and tends to glorify them.
