It's gotta be The World At War.

Both of those are good. Can't leave out The A Team, of course.

If we can include cartoon shows, I vote for Batman Beyond. Not just the music, but the whole sequence that goes with it, the futurist Blade Runner-ish version of Gotham City.

The Miami Vice theme always makes me think of G Gordon Liddy now.

G. Gordon Liddy played one of the bad guys in a few episodes of Miami Vice, he was like some high-level drug smuggler from South America.

Oh I know. If I remember right, he claimed his character was the only one never caught or killed. He used to play the theme on his old radio show all the time is all.

I used to listen to G Gordon and Bill O' Reilly every day back in the nineties. They were on back-to-back (on WJFK?), and they were very entertaining. But they've turned into paranoid right-wing radicals, so I haven't tuned in since.

Liddy's criticism of the Clinton administration was logical. Nowadays, right-wingers sound like they need some medication.

Greatest American Hero,

I always loved the intro to Six Million Dollar Man. An Air Force astronaut who almost dies in an experimental plane wreck and gets transformed into a cyborg secret agent to protect America from James Bond-style villains. What's not to like? Watching reruns, I've decided the show was a lot better when I was 10 years old, but they had a good idea.

I did too. Liddy was great. Such a curmudgeon. I loved that he would come on and just read the paper for hours and rant about whatever was in it. You could hear him turning pages and everything. I disagreed with most things he said, but he did make sense sometimes, and even when I disagreed, his views were usually understandable and logical, just different. I was sad when he left JFK really.

He was a nut in many ways, but an entertaining one.

Same here. Also makes me think of Glenn Fry and Phil Collins.

I concur with The A Team, Mission Impossible, Six Million Dollar Man, and Hawaii Five-O

But how can anyone forget these:

For the music alone, yes. It's a cliche now that every Vietnam movie or TV show has a generic montage of war imagry with Hendrix or Stones playing over it, but it worked for that show.
