My wife had a strange whitened under-the-skin lump on her left wrist - right at the radiocarpal joint (if that whole area is called that):
Then the other day after the last ice storm, she went out on the front porch to "test the ice" and, not surprisingly, fell hard, landing (thankfully) on her left hand rather than her head.
Click!! (that's a thick-sounding "click", BTW)
Strange whitened lump gone.

Our theory is her wrist was somehow dislocated about 30 years ago when one her brothers very roughly yanked on her hand during either a fight or "play"...and had been like that ever since (sometimes causing her pain). Though her current physician recommended she visit some sort of specialist who would handle such things (or bone spurs or whatever), she never went.
Not necessary now!
