The State Against Blacks (Walter Williams)

'Sometimes I sarcastically, perhaps cynically, say that I'm glad that I received virtually all of my education before it became fashionable for white people to like black people," writes Walter Williams in his new autobiography, "Up from the Projects." "By that I mean that I encountered back then a more honest assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Professors didn't hesitate to criticize me—sometimes to the point of saying, 'That's nonsense.'" If I had a chance to meet any two people in my life Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams would be the two bar none. I have read nearly everything published by these two gentlemen and have become a better not to mention smarter person in the process. These guys are priceless.

My first impressions of Prof. Williams were favorable. After I listened to him hosting Rush Limbaugh a few times I was far less impressed. This probably isn't fair because hosting is more about entertainment than serious discussions and analysis.
