Why are people so stupid as to carry a balance on a credit card?

Some people don’t have a choice. For many, it’s the only way to stay above water. Credit card debt isn’t something to lose sleep over. I’ve got tens of thousands in debt and only have to pay pennies on the dollar when I get sent to collections. It’s easy to scam the credit card companies.
