It’s called wildlife management. If you don’t regulate hunters, they’ll kill everything to extinction.

The black bears have exploded in population also. In the 1970's and 1980's I used to hike and camp in the Shenandoah Valley all the time, and never saw a bear. Now almost every time I go in the woods I see a black bear or scat.

and quails like there used to be. You could walk a railroad track and see about a hundred Box turtles, not anymore.
