not sure what this is, but I’d bet that 9.5 out of 10 Brits don’t know who Pelosi is and don’t know what the “speaker of the house” or “house of representatives” is. Brits who do follow politics usually know who the sitting US president is and maybe what party they are in (eg. “aligned with Bush or opposed Bush”), but that’s about it. Anything else is just an obscure American thing that they wouldn’t know or care about.

The UK is very progressive regarding things like universal healthcare, LGBQT rights, taxation, voting rights, climate change etc. Nancy Pelosi would be viewed as a run-of-the-mill conservative over in UK politics. Compared to the shouts for Trump, who is viewed as some kind of fringe, far-right nationalist who wouldn’t fit into any of the mainstream political parties over there.

Why did she have to go to the UK to get booed? We will do it for free here in the good old USA!
