I know nothing about this particular circumstance, but college is open to anyone of any age. They cannot deny any student a chance to play sports. There have been plenty of military veterans who left the service and went to college and played football. They were in their late 20's early 30's but were still capable of making the team. 50 seems to be pushing it....but if it made the team it made the team?

This is a poster case for why "men" don't need to be playing sports with women. The physical attributes are vastly different despite what you want to call yourself.
