Healthe Care, a group of private hospitals in Australia, have begun shutting their doors until the government meets their demands to pay higher fees for coronavirus treatment to cover the loss of elective surgeries during the crisis. They have laid off almost 1000 staff and shuttered the doors in 20 of the systems 34 hospitals throughout Australia. Chinese billionaire Liu Dian Bo bought Healthe Care for $900 million in 2015.
