Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I suggest a compromise: Rather than remove the statues, leave them standing but edit the titles, adding legally factual descriptions. A statue of General Lee could be renamed (using a word beloved by Trump) “Loser Robert E. Lee.” Added to the likeness of Jefferson Davis would be “Traitor to the USA.” Mosby and his Raiders would be titled “Cowards and Murderers.” Stonewall Jackson? “Domestic Terrorist.”
Since the Confederate States of America was never officially recognized by the USA or any foreign government, its soldiers were, in the Bush administration’s definition, “unlawful enemy combatants.” In that light, is there much difference between the Army of the Potomac and al-Qaida or Hamas? Those are harsh terms, but they’ve been earned.

The USA was never officially recognized by anyone either. How did that turn out????
Augment the statues with interactive LED multi-media touch screens that provide factual documentation, photos, dates, records, correspondence, graphical depictions of the people involved and their various traitorous and criminal acts.
Show the slaves, the lynchings, murders, crimes against humanity, Andersonville, etc.
Right next to every Confederate statue, put a larger one of the Union guys who kicked their ass.

That is a excellent idea! We need to show our children and grandchildren that the confederacy was nothing more than a criminal terrorist group.

What are you mindlessly babbling about this time?
France officially recognized the United States in 1778 and the rest of the world followed suit.
BLM has implemented a 2/5th compromise on statues, destroying 2/5th of any statue they haven't been arrested for approaching
I suggest a 1 acre "kill zone" around each statue - clear cut grass so guards have ample opportunity to see any BLM members racing to attack the statue
