I can't find it now, but I was reading a story earlier in the week about an old Polish tradition amongst Catholics where they beat the shit out of a Jew in effigy before setting it on fire. Now that's getting into the Christmas spirit!

I thought that was an Easter Tradition. Something to do with a performance of the 'Passion Play'.

Perhaps the Poles are so enlightened that they did this in both the winter and spring.
