Thinking to the coming summer months and can't wait for some blue crabs and cold beer. Growing up we always took the boat to Robertson's Crab House and Capt. Billy's, but I think I read somewhere that one has since closed and the other has become way too crowded, pricey, and shitty crabs. Any suggestions for a great crab house this summer. No boat anymore but willing to drive if the crabs are good and the beer is cold. And please don't suggest The Quarterdeck or that place off Wisconsin Ave., I haven't had good crabs at either place - the crabs are too small and over-steamed.
Thanks for the advice - will be checking them out come summer. Love cracking crabs and drinking cold beer, a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Just curious if there are any other suggestions - I'd like to hit up a couple of places this summer.

Makes me wish I had a boat. What are Piracy prosecutions like these days?

Buy anything BUT a Bayliner. It really is a shite product. If you can find an older Boston Whaler you're doing yourself a favor. Just my opinion.
Just remember a boat is a luxury item so every thing associated with it costs double. They are money pits because most boats take a lot of punishment from bouncing around on waves all day.

I am a bit leary of crab houses not on the water, I am pretty sure the houses no longer go out and crab themselves (or get them from local watermen) and probably just get them trucked in, but still. Picking crabs must be done by the water or at home, just my opinion - that's all.

Pells are pretty flipping tasty if you askme. Despite the water. You asked fr good crabs, and I think they've got
a good source. If you want environment,
well then that's different. It's pretty convenient tho
