US has allies on the other size of the strait of hormuz (oil selling nations and other relations) and (UN/US owns Iraq).
US has every right to shipping lanes AND security surveillance of the shipping lanes
US can and should have military vessels (not necessarily an armada) in any shipping areas it has ships in to "deter piracy" and also bullies from stealing US ships - which is absolutely an issue, as the international law is that all trade ships are "un-protected" and piracy certainly does occur regularly

IRAN only has a border on one side of the strait. But even if Iran had both sides, access to foreign countries (behind) the strait outweighs any claim IRAN has that it has military control over the strait

FOX NEWS aired that the US Military has claimed $180,000,000 in damage for the shot down drone*
(the "drone" has he wingspan of a commercial airliner and costs as much or more than a capable fighter jet)

It's extremely obvious that:
* the drone is worth several million if not several tens of millions
* Iran has not offered to PAY FOR THE DRONE
* OBAMA gave Iran "aid money"
* USA SHOULD TAKE THE COST OF THE DRONE OUT OF THEIR ASSES

USA should demand IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF ALL OBAMA PAYMENTS TO IRAN
DEMOCRATS SHOULD ADMIT IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE TO GIVE A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION WEAPON FUNDING (being that beyond building power plants it became obvious iran did not stop it's terrorism, instead it used nuclear moneys to build arms)
