You are right. There must be something "in it" for the rescue team. They must be up for the fun and glamor of digging rotting corpses out of concrete rubble in a shit-laden hell hole. Just like Spring Break in Cancun! Whoo hooo!

The Haitian president is homeless.

"The government buildings in Haiti were severely damaged. The President is alive but has nowhere to live. There is no communications system," Clinton told reporters at Honolulu in Hawaii, before heading towards Washington.

For every body recovered they get a $25 gift card from Modell's and whoever finds the most cadavers wins a free dinner for two at Maggiano's.

Fear is a funny thing. The common sense thing would be to stay in your car and get away from tall structures. But then again, fear is a funny thing.

Watching that vid reminds me of when I lived in Los Angeles during the 1994 Northridge quake. http://www.cnico.com/pgs/earth-3.html

I was in a very old (circa 1915) apartment building, about 15 stories high. Quake hit at 4:30am throwing me out of the bed. Power died immediately, leaving the room pitch-black. The wooden floor was rolling like a waterbed (very weird and disorienting), and it sounded like I was standing next to a roaring train. Furniture tumbling and falling around me. I thought for sure the building would pancake. Scariest two minutes of my life.

Online scammers are already targeting donations to Haiti. Fake websites and mass emails that claim to be from the Red Cross are circulating.

Blessed are the murderous.

One charity is sending solar powered Bibles to Haiti. The Bibles can broadcast scripture in Haitian Creole to 300 people at a time.

Blessed are the murderous.
