As the theory goes, Americans are already well acquainted with the Clintons' dirty laundry—
Cattle-gate, Whitewater, Monica, Benghazi attack, Clinton Foundation, Trafficking in Top Secrets, Libya etc.—and as a result, any more mud slung at Hillary isn’t likely to stick. Hillary Clinton has what pollsters call high negatives, which essentially means that lots of people really do hate her but will aways cast their vote for a (D).
Unlike the less-seasoned presidential contender, she's been through the mill, and is still standing just some Little Crezars
