It would appear that...

1. He is totally detached from the real world and the daily carnage of terrorist attacks is the life that he has accepted--or worse wants for the world.

2. He is one cold and callous muther fudder.

3. He is aware that his rhetoric has become so predictable and he is so guilt ridden about his role in the creation of the terrorist, migrant and refugee problems that he is deflecting the issue in hopes of totally changing the subject.

Take your choice, personally I think it could be any one, however, my vote is for #3.
