Just a show of hands. Can't be all the same person. Looks like all the regulars have their own personal stalker.

Straight from the intro message to the Fairfax General forum.

[Trolls]
Do not feed the trolls.

As with any anonymous forum, people will sometimes make inflammatory remarks for the pleasure of getting a reaction. These posters are called trolls. Please do not give them the pleasure of a response, they don't deserve it. Ignore them completely and go on with the discussion as if they never posted. Without the anticipated slew of angry responses trolls will get bored and leave.

Please do not let the trolls deter you from posting.

For more information about trolls see the Wikipedia article.

So in other words, the OP is a troll, right? Anonymous poster, inflammatory remark seeking a reaction. TROLL.

Or Moveon.org, or whatever is being villified by the fringe right-wing press today, right?

Geez, you folks do not let go, do you?

I guess 8 years of hearing valid complaints against your hero Dick Cheney has left you guys bitter and traumatized.

When will you realize there is a massive republican movement that has abandoned the talk-show/cable news contingent and has just opted to stay out of the fray while you guys destroy the party, so that real conservative values can emerge in a new and more dynamic party?

I guess you are so far up Rush and Bill's assholes that you can't fathom anyone else holding conservative views, unless they hold them in lock-step and with the fervor that you do.

Some republicans don't even give a shit about immigration. Some don't care about gay marriage. Some don't get all frothy about abortion.

The new conservative movement that will emerge after you neocon fools die off will actually be a strong, valid and functional group of people who actually make positive changes to this country. We're patient and we're waiting.

Do you mean to tell me that whatever party is in control during the census actually has the audacity to play games with the census?

No!

That is even harder for me to fathom than the concept that each party plays games with redistricting, basically ensuring that each party's incumbents never leave office until they retire.

Have you ever looked at Google Earth with a congressional district overlay? Some "districts" snake all over the map. the district that is Mclean snakes down Georgetown Pike, skirts Reston, and ends up in Middleburg and parts of Warrenton. I can only assume that if they could, it would only encompass certain parts of Mclean, then would have parts of Hampton Roads and Norfolk, and maybe a county or two in southwestern va, just to be sure it only had a certain kind of voter in that district.

How many fraudulent voters have actually voted?

All of them. Being a fraudulent "voter" means you actually voted. The operative word being "voter." For my next trick, I can tell you how many drivers have driven.

That's only applicable to those who tie their self-worth and feeling of well-being into the government.

The government doesn't set my mood. I do, with the help of some fine young ladies.

Once again, the logic of the Republicans. How is it multi-billion dollar industries like Oil and Pharmaceuticals don't control the outcome of elections, but a group composed primarily of volunteers, many of whom are poor and not very well educated, control the world?

You must have missed a few of my comments, even though you couldn't resist commenting about them.

The natural order is for decentralized government.

I guess since you are still stuck in the 20th century mindset of partisan politics, you think anyone who doesn't hate Obama is a liberal, and only red-blooded republicans are right about the direction of this country.

However, if you get beyond partisan politics -- which would be easy if you just looked at where both parties have brought us in the last 25 years -- you'd realize that both parties create larger government, more rules and further intrusions on our civil liberties. Because they don't represent the people, they represent the people with the biggest checkbooks.

Unless you are a large multi-national corporation, neither party is going to defend your interests.

Which two presidents are responsible for the two largest entitlements program expansions in the last 40 years? Bush and Nixon. Bush signed the Presciption bill handed to him by a republican majority Senate and Congress. Nixon permanently increased Social Security Benefits by 20%.

Oh yeah, and Bush created one of the largest government bureaucracies, as well. DHS.

It's really hard to take the "small government" mantra seriously. I know it sells well in the heartland, but it doesn't measure up to reality. Wasn't it Clinton who reduced the size of government and turned deficit into surplus, only to have that reversed when Junior took office?

Sorry, that's not dishonest, that is just a different opinion. I know you partisan folks define the world differently.

Or retired and over the age of 65.

Sitting at home all day watching Fox News tends to warp the mind.

Kind of twist on what really happened. Clinton did not reduce the size of government. They reduced spending on defense which was a significant savings for the government (not reducing the size, just reducing spending on contracted defense systems) at the same time tax revenues were increasing due to the dot.com bubble. While it was nice for Clinton, he had little to do with it. All of which was eventually rolled into a recession with the increase in energy prices, over-investment in the tech sector, and the end of Y2K spending.

DHS was a direct result of 9-11 so it would have happened in some way regardless of who was in office with attacks of that magnitude. Bush pushed for these increases in medicare spending as an attempt to deal with healthcare issues without going to a more structure government run healthcare. Again, if you look closely it appears that in the spirit of "compromise" the government is forced to spend more and more to get anything passed - one of the reasons why, when the Republicans only held a slim majority in the Senate, they had to agree to increase spending in massive amounts to get any legislation through.

True, but you forgot to add in anyone with a large checkbook. Large trade Unions (AFL-CIO), Trial Lawyers (legalized extortion with the allowance of massive rewards), etc. I can't remember the last time Congress took the time to pass a bill that actually was to the benefit of anyone but the Federal Government, and the lobbyists that work there.
