Sung to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Ben"

"Miz, the two of us need look no more,
We both found what we were looking for,
With a love to call my own I'll never be alone and you my love will see
you've found a love with me.

Miz, most folks would turn you away,
I don't listen to one word they say
Our love shall always be,
in perfect harmony,

Ilove you Miz!

The ballad of a dog named "Stain"

I was sittin' out on the porch the other night reminiscing about the good ole days and how my grandson Bobby and I would finish up chores and mosey on into town. Heck, we were poor back then but we loved window shopping. And I recall how excited Bobby'd get 'specially when we stopped by the pet shop. you see, there was this one little puppy that he really took a hankerin' to and he'd look up at me and say "Grandpa... if that was my dog, I'd name him Stains, cuz of that splash of white on his coat." Well, right then and there, I made a up my mind, that I'd get that little critter for Bobby so that following mornin', I cashed in a savings bond and brought the little mutt home. Darnit, I couldn't tell you who was happiest that day, me, Bobby or that there dog. Them two were inseparable .... why, you'da need a crowbar to separate those two. And to this day, I can still hear the boy hollerin' after that dog... still hear him calling... calling out his name...

CHORUS (sung) Come Stains! Come Stains! I still can Hear him calling...Come Stains!

Storyteller VERSE TWO

you know, we don't like talkin' about it much but it was that following winter that little Bobby took ill. and they don't allow dogs at the hospital so back home you'd find Stains on Bobby's bed. I'll never forget the day Doc called and gave us the bad news about Bobby out of the corner of my eye I saw Stains lift his sad little dogface from Bobby's pillow. Somehow he knew that Bobby was gone and I swear to the good lord that Stains was hearing Bobby calling out to him one more time from heaven he just sorta smiled, crossed his paws like he was prayin' put his head on the pillow..........and passed away.

CHORUS Come Stains! Come Stains! I still can hear him calling, Come Stains! Come Stains! Come Stains! I still can hear him calling, Come Stains!

(boy and dog united in Heaven) "Come Stains! Come Stains!...Stains!...Woof, woof..."

OK fuckers, laugh at me. The internet is cheaper than therapy.

"Talk of the Town" by the Pretenders.

About 25 years ago, I was hanging out with this girl who was the sister of a friends GF. She was maybe 21, just a little older than me. Sweet girl, an artist, very pretty eyes. Never put a hand on her, but really enjoyed talking to her. I remember this song playing and her mouthing along lightly- "maybe tomorrow, maybe someday" and I was thinking of a double meaning to it and maybe she was interested, but we both had someone else back then and she was way more mature than me.

Didn't see her after that at all and about a year later she was killed in a car wreck. Sometimes I hear that song and think of her, especially the ending where the last riff ends abruptly and rings for just a second. The riff is repeated in the song and I think there is going to be more, but there isn't.

Goes quick kinda like life.

"Pervert Marriage" by Meade Skelton. It is a toe tapper, but when he goes into dialogue at the end, and says "but what about the children?" I just cry.

When Meade starts singing about God in this song, I really break down and just ball. It is like the great philosophers in he world, and Jesus Christ, were speaking through Meade to get me to open my eyes, and hate, via song!

Meade will never ever endorse a song like this, goes against everything he stands for. Song for perverts, by a pervert.

This song was on the radio non-stop when I was in high school. Yes, they had radios back in those days.

In retrospect, it couldn't have been more fitting. I've seen maybe three people I went to school with for four years, since. More than a few I attended elementary and junior high with as well.

And I haven't seen two of them in years. The third killed himself a while back.

I'm wondering why Meade doesn't do any Dead Kennedys covers.
"Too drunk to Fuck" would be just up his alley.

AND if he sang "Holiday in Cambodia" he can sing "nigger" and get away with it since it was used ironically in 1978.

What hurts the most by Rascal Flatts

https://youtu.be/7qH4qyi1-Ys

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don’t bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I’m OK
But that’s not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin’ to do

It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I’m doin’ It
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say (much to say)
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do, oh.

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say (to say)
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

Not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do

He might get behind 'Chemical Warfare' since it trashes Jane Fonda.
Of course, if he figured out what the song is really about the deal would be off. But it might be fun to hear him sing it oblivious to its actual meaning.
