If you use a gas grill...you're a faggot. The only way to grill is to use charcoal.

Hickory wood chips are good too but charcoal is cheaper and easier to access.
Not a big fan of gas grills, but to each his or her own.

Yeah, sure. Sounds like fun waiting forever for charcoal to heat up then having to clean up that shit when you done. This is why you never see charcoal grillers grilling more than once a week, usually on the weekend when they have a little more time to waste on such bullshit. My gas grill can have me grilling in minutes and other than a few scrapes of the brush on the grill there's no clean-up involved.

Yo, Hank, i personally don't mind the wait for the charcoal to get hot, it gives me more time to make another round of cocktails and chat with the guests, or my spouse, if we haven't any company. Just sayin.

I've used my big green egg in driving rain and when we lost power because of snow. It may be a hassle compared to gas but if I wanted easy, I'd get takeaway. Or just go inside and use the stove.
