Meade represents what's right about the USA he reflects all that is right and good. Such virtues as truth, honesty, hard work, sacrifice, empathy and unselfishness are embedded in the Meade creed. His father may or may not help him but that too is the American way, nothing wrong in that. Who helped their kids more than John Wayne? You always saw his son Patrick in one of his later flicks (Patrick was not a skilled actor and needed help) and his older boy was always in a production capacity. No one was more American than the Duke, Big Jake, John Wayne!!!!

John Wayne was a veteran of many great battles and got the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I don't see any of that in Meade.

Meade keeps fighting the battle of the bulge and losing.
Does that count?
Maybe if he loses 100 pounds Mrs. Obama will give him a presidential wife medal of not as fat as he once was award.

I feel very untalented and horrible. Nobody seems to like my stuff. Richmond doesn’t want me, and I couldn’t get on the America’s Got Talent show. I wish I could just sing once on National TV. I wish I were more talented. I am extremely mediocre. No wonder most venues won’t have me. Please let me sing some place. I don’t even usually get paid. I have such a hard time. I wish people liked my music. Nobody likes it. Also, I am not good looking. I am ugly and I am a 36 year old virgin. When I was in school no girls would go out with me. And here I am alone. At least I have Jesus. But I don’t know why he won’t let me sing on TV.

Meade is not afraid of "sweat equity", he has the heart and character of a true professional. Many of this nations top performers started at the same "grassroots" level as Mr. Skelton, if he continues to go the route he is going it is just a matter of time before he achieves success.
