boots

Looking for a pair of men's boots I can wear around (work, bars, etc.). Not looking for formal boots, maybe riding boots or casual cowboy ones or even work ones if they're casual enough. Any particular brand I should look at?

I've looked at Ariats, RedWings, and Wolverines. Any others? Not sure if one brand is better (or more respected) then others.

TIA

I found a good website that sells what you need.

Doc Martens are the sturdiest and most comfortable footwear on the planet. I have a pair of 1460's, and use them for active stuff like hiking or walking around the city, and can wear them with dress clothes to work when it snows. They're especially comfy if you're going to be standing around all night at a concert or party. Thick, wide, rubbery air-cushioned soles, they feel great on your feet. They can also take a licking, very well-made boots. It's the only brand I'd ever buy or recommend.

Timberland has always worked for me. They make water proof oxfords that go with business casual.

Yeah I have a pair of Mephistos that I really like. It's a bit much to go tromping into a bar and have people spill beer all over it. I'd spend max $150 on a pair of casual everyday boots.

FWIW, there's a shoe store at Potomac Mills that sells them.

RedWings were the best shoes I've ever owned; safety toe, looked stylish, and could be worn for many different occasions. I couldn't get Doc Martens, as they wouldn't look right for work (specifically, the yellow threading).

My Dream Shoe

Works like a boot
Style like a dress shoe
Feels like a sneaker

I'll pay a lot for that shoe.

From Wikipedia's page on me:

In demonology, Furfur (other spelling: Furtur) is a powerful Great Earl of Hell, being the ruler of twenty-nine legions of demons. He is a liar unless compelled to enter a magic triangle where he gives true answers to every question, speaking with a rough voice. Furfur causes love between a man and a woman, creates storms, tempests, thunder, lightning, and blasts, and teaches on secret and divine things.

Do you think this shit is easy? You know how many times my boss breathes down my back? If I want to splurge on some expensive clothes, I damn well have that right!

RedWings. And they're like, guaranteed for life or something.

The Doc Martens have certain models that, are more expensive, but are guaranteed for life. The 1460's are one of them.
