I was there too. 87th Dead show for me though it's not really a Dead show without Jerry IMO.

Jerry was rolling inhis grave by the 23rd minute of that lame song.

LOL- they really played a 90 minute version of Dark Star??

BTW, does Bobby sing all the songs now, or do others join in on vocals?

The Dead without Jerry Garcia is like The Beatles without John Lennon or Nirvana without Kurt Cobain. It ain't The Dead.

Sorry, I missed this post. I was at the show, the dark star wasn't the only thing they did for too long, but judging from my one previous dead experience in 94, rambling shit like that is SOP for those guys. The crowd was chill as hell and I had a great time nonetheless. I liked the show because I could talk to the folks I was with without yelling.

Jerry's spot was taken by a guy named Warren Haynes, who is a veteran of session and stage music.

Tipper gore was there on stage. Not sure if anne coulter was there as well. I may have seen them dropping some doses and making out backstage, Not sure I was very "refreshed" at the time. I never saw the Dead with Jerry but Ive heard plenty of shows on archive.org and THOSE shows sound better than the one I was at. I have been to a phil lesh and friends show and THAT was better than the dead show at Verizon. phill lesh CANNOT sing. Make him stop. The Acoustic set was OK but mikey the drummer was Boooooring. Highlight was Sugar magnolia, pretty cool.
