Larry Hogan (R) took the oath of office as Maryland’s 62nd chief executive on Wednesday, promising a “new day in Maryland,” where government runs more efficiently, businesses flourish and “hardworking and beleaguered taxpayers” are not forgotten.

“They said it was going to be a cold day in Hell before we elected a Republican governor” in mostly Democratic Maryland, Hogan joked before beginning his formal remarks. His defeat of then-Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D) in November was considered one of the biggest political upsets in the country.

And then of course, there's Illinois and Massachusetts flipping.

This will go down in MD history as one of the biggest upsets of all time.

Brown was O'Malley's Lt Gov and supposed to be a lock. I think the trouble started when people were walking out of Obozo's boring ass speech in Upper Marlboro.

Basically western MD, the Eastern Shore and counties like Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard REJECTED having a rubber stamped Obama sycophant be coronated.


I know little to nothing about Larry Hogan, but it's a telling sign of the times that no one wants what the libturds are selling.

What!!!! Almost an entire dayin office and he hasnt repealed a single tax!!!

Better than can be said for his democrat counter parts who can't go a whole without introducing a new tax, or on a bad day, at least raising an existing one.
