earth observance hour - burnt out light bulbs

so we just participated in the earth observance hour. Our lights were out for the hour, but when we turned some back on, 2 bulbs burnt out.
I have heard about power stations being "overwhelmed" when the I flux of power usage eg: everyone turning there lights back on at the same time.
Did anyone else experence something similar, or am I just crazy?

So, did you light a bunch of candles? I wonder how much CO2 that released.

The days before electricity must have been fun. All those candles polluting the environment and burning down houses.

Instead of turning my lights off during “the stupid hour,” I turned a few more on.

Alias you're an idiot. It's not a coincidence that 496 posted and
then 5 mins later then you posted? A little obvious again.

It shows that you're an idiot.

So you shut your lights off for an hour. What did you prove? Absolutely nothing. Maybe saved a few cents worth of electricity. Do you realize how little that is in the scheme of things? It's infinitesimally small. There's more loss in the power wires getting to your house than that.

This thing was just some stupid feel-good activity by you idiots to make yourself feel good about your existence.

If you want to really do something worthwhile.....go out and advocate for nuclear plants. That would solve more problems than anything you green-weenies are doing.
